Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Floating required: Float Medical-Surgical (MS) unit
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Stroke experience required
• Minimum 1 year of specialty experience required
• First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC Provider card required for all RNs
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Preferred, especially for critical care areas
• NIH Stroke Certification: Preferred but not required
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Registered Nursing specialty
• Prior travel experience is not required

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or Attestation
• Valid Driver’s License or State ID (photo ID required)
• E-Verify proof or Attestation
• 7-year background check within 60 days of start, including alias search, counties lived/worked/school, national and federal criminal searches, sex offender search, social security trace, and international background check if applicable
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusion checks within 60 days of start
• Education verification as applicable
• State-specific background checks (Missouri FCSR or Caregiver search) required within 60 days of start
• NURSYS verification for RN license within 60 days of start
• State license primary source verification within 60 days of start
• Drug testing: Negative 7-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be initiated within 48 hours of signing)
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (3M 1870+, 1860R, 1860S, or 9205)
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or approved exemption)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B series or titer (declinations not accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023)
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references within the last 2 years
• Resume with minimum 7 years of employment history, all gaps accounted for, including education details
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Completion of facility-specific forms such as confidentiality agreements, new hire packets, and employment eligibility certification
• Photo for badge (new candidates only)

Summary

This is a 13-week travel Registered Nurse position in Columbia, Missouri, requiring at least 1 year of RN experience with stroke experience preferred. BLS certification is mandatory, ACLS and NIH Stroke Certification are preferred. First-time travelers are welcome. Extensive background checks, immunizations, and compliance documentation are required prior to start.
