Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Critical Care ICU)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide exceptional care to critically ill patients in a rural hospital's 12-bed ICU.
• Floating to medical/surgical units when ICU/IMC census is low.
• Schedule includes four weekend shifts per 4-week period.

Experience & Certifications Required

• Minimum 2 years of Critical Care (ICU) experience.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required.
• Meditech experience preferred but not required.

Note: No prior travel experience is explicitly required.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID).
• I9 verification.
• Background checks including 7-year search, SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide Sex Offender, Education Verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG checks.
• Education verification.
• Primary source verification of state nursing license.
• Professional references: 2 required within 3 years of start.
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams (medication/pharmacology and specialty-specific).

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (specific to Aya placements).
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes.
• Vaccinations or documented declinations required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Seasonal Flu (or declination during flu season)
  • COVID-19 (vaccine or declination)
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.

Additional Notes

• Some certifications such as PALS, NRP, TNCC, CPI, and NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit assignment.
• Floating to other units may require flexibility in skill set.

This position is ideal for a critical care nurse with solid ICU experience looking for a travel contract in a rural hospital setting.
