Labor and Delivery RN

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Seattle, Washington
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
• 48 hours per week
• Contract length: 26 weeks
• First-time travelers accepted
• Locals at the same rate
• Pre-approved time off is handled case by case
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Floating may be required to postpartum, antepartum, and sister facilities that provide mother/baby care

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• 2 years of experience in high acuity and high pace environment
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• Baby nurse skills including newborn care, eye care, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
• Circulate skills in operating room
• Post Partum experience
• Antepartum experience

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• AWHONN Advanced
• AWHONN Intermediate

Unit Details

• High-risk, high-volume labor and delivery unit
• Supports midwifery clients, private OBs, adult recovery services, and community care clinics
• Uses electronic fetal monitoring
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Functions as baby nurse during delivery and continues newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate are used on the unit
• Average daily census: 15
• Approximately 500–600 deliveries per month
• 31 rooms and 31 beds
