Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Overview

• Travel/contract role in Cedartown, Georgia
• Outpatient setting
• 13-week assignment
• Day shift, 5x8 schedule
• 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher
• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Georgia
• Physical Therapy Assistant (2 years of experience)
• Physical Therapy Assistant experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association

Clinical Focus

• Common patient populations include COPD, CHF, hip fracture, total joints, CABG, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, medically complex patients, debility, respiratory failure, and post-surgical rehab cases
• Patient population is mostly geriatric

Key Responsibilities

• Transfer training
• Gait training
• Home management
• Discharge planning
• Thorough documentation
• Team collaboration
• Clinical judgment in medical situations
• Therapeutic exercise

Unit Support

• CNAs on the floor
• HUC support
• Charge RN for the floor
• Phlebotomy support
• RT available 24/7
• Hospitalist available 24/7
• NP manages the floor overnight

Orientation

• NEO
• 5 shifts of unit orientation

Schedule Details

• Monday through Friday schedule
• No weekend rotation
• No on-call requirement
• No holiday expectation

• Light gray scrubs
• Free parking
• No floating required
