Step Down RN

Overview

Travel/Contract assignment in Kalamazoo, Michigan
13-week contract
Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
36 hours per week
Must be available for the first two weeks of the assignment
Call: none
Works every other weekend
Floating may include other med surg areas, including AU and ER, to care for med surg patients
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4–6
Block scheduling may be accommodated

Unit

GMU step down unit caring for gen med/oncology stepdown patients

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Michigan
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Stepdown experience within the last year
2 years of stepdown experience
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS

Preferred

Oncology/Chemo experience
ONCC or ONS

Skills / Clinical Experience

Administering chemotherapy via IV
Starting IVs

Additional Notes

Support staff may be available if ratios flex higher
Charge RN is not typically in the patient assignment
Chemo admits decrease assignment ratios
