Job Overview
- Travel/contract role in Columbus, Ohio
- 16-week assignment
- Day or night shifts; rotating day/night schedules may be assigned based on department needs
- 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
- Adults and geriatrics
- Floating required to other MedSurg Oncology units
- Staffing goal is 1:4, with ratios up to 1:5
- Weekends vary based on unit needs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Oncology experience
- Telemetry interpretation and telemetry monitoring
- EPIC charting familiarity
- Completion of a unit-specific competency exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam within 1 year of start and updated annually
Preferred Qualifications
- ONS Chemo
- Prior travel experience
Unit Details
- Medical oncology unit caring for solid tumor cancer patients across the cancer journey, including end-of-life care
- Common diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, plus antineoplastic chemotherapy encounters
- Strong focus on infection prevention and fall prevention
- Cares for patients with med-surg needs

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
