Job Opportunity: Step Down Nurse (LVN / LPN)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Assignment in a Progressive Care Unit (Step Down) with night shifts (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Must have experience with EPIC electronic health record system
• Floating required: may be assigned to various units including High Risk Respiratory Unit/COVID and multiple nearby campuses (within 15 miles)
• Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays
• Employer reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts during the contract due to low census and may cancel the contract with 2 weeks' notice without penalty

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN / LVN license in Ohio
• Minimum 1 year of LPN / LVN experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
• Float experience

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• E-Verify completion prior to start
• Background checks including 7-year criminal background check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG required
• Fingerprinting not required for this assignment
• Education verification (Primary source) required
• Physical exam within 2 years indicating fitness to work and free of communicable diseases
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation required; annual TB questionnaire if past positive TB
• Immunity or vaccination documentation for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B (vaccination series, immune titer, or declination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 12 months prior to documentation due date; lab-based drug test within 72 hours of contract signing
• Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start and must be renewed annually
• Annual health questionnaire and candidate agreement forms must be completed prior to documentation due date
• Two professional references within 2 years required (one must be a manager/supervisor/charge nurse); employment verification accepted if references unavailable
• Current resume or employment application required
• Skills checklist updated within 1 year prior to documentation due date and annually

Additional Notes

• Travelers will be the first to float at employer’s discretion and may support nursing care teams in various units
• Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives
• Must be able to work night shifts and be flexible with floating assignments
• Must comply with all credentialing and compliance requirements prior to start

This position is ideal for experienced LVN/LPN nurses comfortable with telemetry step-down care, EPIC system, and flexible floating assignments in a travel/contract role.
