Dialysis Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job – Albuquerque, New Mexico
Job Details
- Position: Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (minimum 10 weeks for new contracts and extensions)
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 2 patients
- Unit Info:
- Five bays treating up to five patients per shift, typically three shifts daily (sometimes four depending on census)
- Approximately 13–15 patients treated daily plus 2–4 bedside treatments
- Responsible for managing peritoneal dialysis for hospitalized patients
- Facility Type: Level I Trauma, Children’s Hospital, Teaching Hospital, Short-term Acute Care
- Total Staffed Beds: 554
- Charting System: Cerner
- Parking: No fee
- Local Radius Rule: No locals accepted within 100 miles
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week; facility may call off up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment
- On-Call Requirement: Yes, night and Sunday call for emergent dialysis
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of dialysis nursing experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Successful completion of Relias Basic Dysrhythmia Exam
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Information
- Travel Experience: Prior travel experience is not required
- Overtime: OT applies after 48 hours per week on contracts signed on or after 10/30/2025
- Return to Orientation Restrictions: Absences greater than 7 days require approval
- Break Between Assignments: A 6-month break is required after 4 consecutive assignments or one year of travel, whichever comes first
- Transportation: Location is not near public transportation; candidates must have reliable transportation and provide a letter if approval is needed for commute
- Fingerprinting Cost: Candidate pays $88.30 for fingerprinting onsite during orientation (reimbursement possible under certain conditions)
This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity dialysis unit within a Level I Trauma and teaching hospital setting, with a supportive environment for first-time travel nurses.
