Speech Therapist (SLP) - Inpatient Rehab (Travel/Contract)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule Details:

  • Every third weekend required
  • Holidays required as scheduled
  • No floating or on-call duties

Job Description

  • Provide speech therapy services in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
  • Preferred experience with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) care

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Maryland
  • Minimum of 2 years of Speech Language Pathologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Background and Verification

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start; must be updated annually
  • Felony convictions within 5 years result in automatic decline; older felonies require review
  • Employment history verification for the past 5 years
  • Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
  • Agency application or resume completed within 30 days of start
  • Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start

Health and Immunizations

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
  • Fit test within 1 year of start (not required for laboratory professions)
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (declination accepted for low/equivocal titer)
    • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap required if working with children or specific units
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol, updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 6 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required for this location, but documentation or declination collected for tracking

Certifications and Competencies

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Age-specific competency exam
  • Other certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) as applicable to unit or specialty (verify if required)

Facility-Specific Documents

  • Passport-style photo for badge
  • Signed job description prior to start
  • Confidentiality agreement signed prior to start
  • Dress code reviewed prior to start
  • Badge/security ID application completed within 72 hours of signing contract
  • Latex allergy questionnaire completed by all candidates

Additional Notes

  • Start date: June 15, 2026
  • No floating or on-call responsibilities
  • Must work every third weekend and scheduled holidays
  • Attestation and verification documents required for I9, E-Verify, and government-issued photo ID
