ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Connecticut

Position Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Mixed acuity unit with both ICU and step-down assignments
Must commit to 4x12-hour shifts per week
Weekend coverage every other weekend, some holiday coverage required
Possibility to float to adult ICUs at other campuses
Guaranteed hours

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Pros

Always given very easy assignments. Their MICU is combined with the MICU stepdown so travelers were put in stepdown once a week but it’s a 1:3 ratio there and assignments were fair

Cons

Very large unit so hard to get to know everyone/find people to help sometimes
