Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 16 weeks (preferred; 13 weeks acceptable)
Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (can sign for 36 or 48 hours)
Patient Ratio: 1:2

Job Description

High acuity Cardiac ICU (CVICU) requiring specialized Cardiac/CVICU ICU experience.
Care for patients with acute heart failure, CHF exacerbation, fluid overload, post cardiac arrest, complete heart block, cardiogenic shock, pre-heart transplant, arrhythmias, ventricular tachycardia.
Management of ventilators, arterial lines, pulmonary artery catheters, pacemakers, Impellas, balloon pumps, LVADs, intra-aortic balloon pumps, dialysis, vasoactive drips, central lines, Foley catheters.
Floating within the service line may be required.
Weekend requirement: every other weekend.
No on-call required.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, with CVICU experience within the last year required.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Competency in EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management.
Experience managing ventilators, arterial lines, pulmonary artery catheters, pacemakers, Impellas, balloon pumps, LVADs, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and PA/TVP catheter monitoring.
Proficient in managing vasoactive drips, central lines, and dialysis.
Skilled in managing acute heart failure, CHF exacerbation, post-cardiac arrest, complete heart block, pre-heart transplant, arrhythmias, and ventricular tachycardia.
