Overview

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Schedule / Assignment Details
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope may be required
- Block scheduling is not available
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Pending license is accepted
- Local candidates are not accepted within a 75-mile radius
Preferred Qualifications
- TNCC
- BSN
- 10 hours of stroke education
Unit Details
- Neuro ICU
- Common patient populations include ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, seizure disorders, CNS infections, neuromuscular disorders, subdural/epidural hematomas, neurotrauma, and patients requiring ICP monitoring
- Unit procedures may include vasoactive medications, central line/arterial line management, CRRT, hypothermia/hyperthermia management, and spinal precautions
- Special equipment includes EVDs and bolts
Compliance / Onboarding Notes
- Orientation includes 10 hours of stroke education
- Up to 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract
- Guaranteed hours apply, with 3 shifts guaranteed per 13 weeks
- Government-issued ID required
- Background check, education verification, and professional license verification are required
- References: 2 professional references required
- Skills checklist required within 1 year of start
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start
- Fit testing required
- Drug testing required within 1 year of start and must remain valid through the assignment
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Tdap documentation or declination required
- TB documentation required
- HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, dress code policy, hand hygiene policy, fingernail policy, and regulatory compliance education are required before start
- Vehicle registration form is required for day shifts
