Interventional Radiology Travel/Contract Job - Charlotte, North Carolina
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology)
- Location: Charlotte, NC
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
- Call Requirement: Yes, one day per week on a rotating schedule including weekdays and weekends
- Weekend Requirement: Approximately 1 weekend every 6-7 weeks
- Float Requirement: None
- Average Daily Census: 450 patients; 20 visits/day; 3 rooms; 650 beds
- Orientation: 40 hours (missing any portion may delay or cancel start)
- Scrubs: Not provided; light blue color required
Required Qualifications
- Interventional Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ARRT certification
- Previous experience in a Stroke Certified Hospital
- Neuro experience
- Proficiency in angioplasty
- Experience with chemoembolization
- Experience with embolization
- Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filter placement and removal
- Inferior vena cavagram
- Mesenteric angiogram
- Pelvic angiography
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional skills in adrenal angiography, aortography, liver biopsy, paracentesis, pulmonary arteriography, radioembolization, thoracentesis
- Experience with dialysis graft interventions, upper/lower extremity angiography
- Venous access care and maintenance for central lines and PICC lines
- Familiarity with GE Innova IGS, Siemens, and ultrasound equipment
- Ability to perform EKG lead placement and vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Additional certifications: ARRT CI & ARRT VI
Special Procedures / Unit Details
- Stroke intervention, intracranial embolization, kyphoplasty
- Carotid and vertebral stent placement
- Nephrostomy, biliary placement
- Chemoembolization, Therasphere mapping and infusion
- Mesenteric angiogram, uterine arterial embolization (UAE), gastric arterial embolization (GAE), prostate arterial embolization (PAE)
- Chest port and permanent catheter placement
Equipment & Systems
- Fluoroscopy required
- GE Innova Single Plane and Siemens Artis Biplane (x2)
- Unit systems: Pyxis, EPIC
Important Notes on Scheduling and Start
- Start date depends on facility schedule, class, and trainer availability
- Travelers may start Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week
- Must be fully available with no other commitments during orientation and start week
- Final start date confirmed the Tuesday prior to start week
- No return to origin (RTO) allowed after booking or onsite
- Maximum 7 days RTO allowed for auto offers
Required Background and Compliance
- Background checks including local county, federal court, national criminal database, DOJ sex offender search, and education verification for highest degree earned
- Drug testing within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative result required)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (30 days if past positive TB)
- Fit testing for N95 mask or PAPR training completion required
- Immunizations and titers required: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (with facility-specific declination if applicable)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray per protocol
- Annual flu vaccination or approved exemption with mask requirement
- Required facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, education roster, tobacco-free campus acknowledgement, medication safety training, and hospital policies acknowledgment
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
- Radiation badge required for interventional radiology techs
References and History
- Two professional references within three years required for travel allied and acute care candidates
- Performance evaluation required if worked with agency over one year
- Employment application must be uploaded
