MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Riverview, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (12:00 PM to 12:00 AM)
• Daily caseload: 15-20 patients
• Facility type: Short Term Acute Care
• Total staffed beds: 223
• Work settings include: Outpatient, Inpatient, ER, Community Hospital, Children's Hospital, Adult ICU
• Weekend work required
• On-call required (details to be discussed with manager)
• No floating to other facilities or block scheduling
• Locals not accepted
• Pending state license not accepted

Required Experience & Skills

• MRI Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of experience
• MRI Technologist experience within the last year
• Experience in both Inpatient and Outpatient settings
• Experience with Cerner EMR system
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ARRT certification

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current, valid MRI Tech license for Florida
• Advanced MR certification: ARRT or ARMRIT certification(s) required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions accepted)

Technology & Documentation

• Experience with Cerner EMR required
• Charting done in Cerner system

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 10 weeks of start; if prior positive PPD, chest X-ray within past year plus TB questionnaire required
• Annual TB questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test
• Required immunizations or titers:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal)
• Standard 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination with mask requirement during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Respirator medical clearance annually if respirator use is required

Background & Compliance

• Driver’s license required and must remain current throughout assignment
• Background check within 1 year including:

  • 7-year residential/work/school history
  • SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Foreign equivalency evaluation required if education completed outside USA or Puerto Rico
• Education verification required for all healthcare professionals
• Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start; Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide
• Two professional references from past 2 years required
• Employment application and skills checklist required

Competency & Testing

• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable (minimum 80%)
• Color blind testing (Relias online exam) required prior to start
• Competency exams required as applicable (minimum 80%)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain nursing units (not applicable here)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Professional photo for badge required prior to start (clear, solid background, no filters)
• Dress code and tobacco policy acknowledgment required
• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (approx. 4-8 hours)
• Fit mask acknowledgment required
• Hurricane exemption survey required if assignment during June 1 - November 30 window

• Floating within scope to meet facility needs is not allowed
