Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Mooresville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
• On-Call Requirement: Every other week, Monday through Sunday
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Echo Technologist
• Echo Technologist experience within the last year
• ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• High school diploma or college diploma, including Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree

Experience Requirements

• Prior travel experience: Not accepted for first-time travelers (First-timer candidates are NOT eligible)
• Local candidates within 75 miles are considered local

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License or government-issued photo ID
• Social Security Card (only if used for I9 verification)
• Background checks within 90 days of start, including:

  • SSN Trace, County, Alias, Nationwide, Sex Offender, International (if applicable)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
  • Education verification for Radiology/Cardiology specialties (must have graduated from accredited programs)
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug test including THC within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Physical Exam: Within 12 months of start
• Fit Mask (N95 or equivalent): Within 12 months of start
• Immunizations and Health Requirements:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no exemptions)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with documentation if history of positive PPD)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive antibody titers (no exemptions)
  • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer (boosters required if low/equivocal titers)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine required for 2025-26 season (no exemptions)
  • Polio vaccine or signed attestation
• References: Two professional references from employment within last 12 months, at least one supervisor
• Employment Application: Complete with 7 years of work history
• Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually
• Competency Exam: Unit-specific competency exam required
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Administered at orientation, passing score 80%
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card: Required; training provided onsite if not held

Orientation & Onboarding

• Orientation sessions held bi-weekly
• Candidate must set up a Guest Account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems
• Online modules must be completed prior to orientation
• Competency checklists (CBOs) must be completed within 3 weeks after start date

Additional Notes

• Candidates with less than a 30-day gap between previous assignments may have some document requirements waived or accepted on file
• Candidates must be prepared for call coverage every other week, including weekends
• Local candidates receive a reduced rate (not included here)
• Candidate must confirm Guest Account setup before being placed in “Awaiting Clearance” status

This position is ideal for experienced Echo Sonographers with community hospital experience and ARDMS certification who are comfortable with weekend and on-call responsibilities and have prior travel contract experience.
