Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location: Rancho Mirage, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Unit Notes:
- No first-time travelers accepted
- 4 years of experience required
- EPIC experience preferred
- Experience with adults, clinics, and nuclear cardiology required
- Hospital experience required
- Procedures include MUGA scans, PYP scans, and exercise/pharmacological (Lexiscan) stress studies
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California
- Minimum 4 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Current CNMT certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience in a clinic setting
- Experience performing MUGA scans
- Experience performing PYP scans
- Experience performing exercise/pharmacological stress studies
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Criminal background check (7-year search) required within 30 days of start
- Diploma or transcripts from a relevant Nuclear Medicine Tech program required (official or unofficial acceptable)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, documenting good physical and mental health
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start
- Fit testing for specific N95 masks required prior to start (onsite testing not available)
- Immunization and lab evidence required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (immunity or vaccination evidence)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (no declinations allowed)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if positive)
- Radiation badge required (must be supplied by the facility, not provided by agency)
Certifications & Training
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS, PALS, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, and other certifications may be required or preferred depending on unit (verify with recruiter)
- Medication and unit-specific competency exams required
- Harassment prevention training certificate required
- Facility-specific orientation and compliance documents must be signed prior to start
- Completion of NetLearning modules prior to start (time compensated)
- Onsite pass/fail EKG exam required for some units (not required for techs)
Additional Notes
- Minimum of 2 positive professional references required
- Annual performance and internal evaluations required if previously employed with the agency for over 1 year
- Skills checklist and other competency documentation required
- Candidates must comply with all facility policies including confidentiality, abuse reporting, infection prevention, hand hygiene, social media, and tobacco-free policies
This position is ideal for experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologists with strong hospital and nuclear cardiology experience, who are comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment and meeting rigorous compliance standards.
