Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse to work as a Case Manager in an acute hospital setting. This is a travel contract position requiring an Alaska RN license in hand for immediate consideration. The role involves working day shifts with a schedule of 5 days a week, 8 hours per day. Shift times vary between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Schedule
- Shift: 5x8 (five 8-hour shifts per week)
- Shift times may vary: 07:00-15:30, 07:30-16:00, 08:00-16:30, or 08:30-17:00
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 4 weekend days in a 4-week schedule
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Time Off Requests: Limited to one 5-day or less request per 13-week assignment; no holiday time off for auto offer
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Case Manager RN within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
- Acute care experience
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit mask testing required (updated annually)
- Immunizations and screenings required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (positive titer and vaccine series required for Alaska placements)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
Background and Compliance
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification required for nursing degree
- Employment application covering last 5 years (7 years for advanced practice nurses)
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting
- Various state-specific and facility-specific background checks and attestations as applicable
Training and Competency Requirements
- Completion of required WorkRamp modules including:
- Annual regulatory requirements
- Specialty-specific modules for Case Management and acute care roles
- Basics of Trauma Informed Care (required at this facility)
- Epic training and access transcripts required prior to or shortly after start
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Other certifications may be required based on unit or specialty (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP)
Additional Notes
- Guaranteed minimum of 72 hours per 2 weeks; may be called off for one 8-hour shift per 2 weeks
- No block scheduling accommodations
- Floating policy applies; may be required to float to other nearby facilities within scope
- Candidates must comply with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements prior to start
