Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Outpatient Surgery

Job Description

• Position requires 1 year of experience in Pre-Op and PACU, preferably in an ambulatory setting.
• Shift: 8 hours, scheduled between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
• Occasional weekend work required.
• No floating or on-call requirements.
• Must have an active California RN license at time of application.
• Scheduling requests cannot be accommodated.
• Open to first-time travel nurses; prior travel experience is not required.
• Candidates must be local or interested in temp-to-perm opportunities.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Outpatient Surgery, including Pre-Op and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), with experience within the last year.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIHSS, and CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute), all issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross as applicable.
• Ability to work the specified shift hours and occasional weekends.
• Must meet all facility-required background checks, health screenings, and competency exams prior to start.

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions.
• Fit test for N95 or equivalent respirators within 1 year, updated annually.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; if history of positive TB, additional documentation required.
• Up-to-date immunizations including MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and seasonal flu vaccination (mandatory during flu season).
• Drug screening within 1 year (specific panels required, excluding marijuana/THC).
• Completion of required competency exams including medication and EKG/dysrhythmia assessments.
• Background checks including criminal history and education verification.

Additional Notes

• Photo for badge must meet strict facility requirements.
• Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies including code of conduct, attendance, job hazard analysis, social media, and confidentiality policies.
• References: Two professional references required, at least one supervisory.
