Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse

Location: Greensburg, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide care in Labor and Delivery, including:

  • Performing vaginal exams
  • Assisting in vaginal deliveries
  • Circulating in cesarean section deliveries
• Start IVs and draw blood
• Assist with stabilization of newborns post-delivery using Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) skills
• Recognize and respond to complications such as postpartum hemorrhage and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Pennsylvania
• Current certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year of start (with annual TB questionnaire if applicable)
• Up-to-date immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative 15-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 1)
• Background checks including:

  • Criminal background (7 years)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM
  • HHS/OIG
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse clearance and Department of Human Services fingerprint results required prior to start

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific orientation and training modules prior to start, including but not limited to:

  • Orientation checklist
  • Pandemic attestation
  • Code of conduct and confidentiality agreements
  • Patient safety and competency assessments (including medication/pharmacology competency exam)
  • Skin integrity, mobility, catheter, and cardiac procedure education
• Must provide 2 professional references from travel, allied, or per diem acute care within the last 3 years
