Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology

Location: La Jolla, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday weekdays, some weekend call; call rotation with staff (details to be confirmed during interview)

Job Description

• Work in interventional lab and operating room (OR) settings with the ability to scrub.
• Interview availability required.
• Call rotation with staff.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year.
• Current BLS certification.
• ARRT certification.
• Radiology Fluoroscopy Permit.
• CRT or Fluoroscopy certification.

Certifications & Licenses

• Must hold a valid California license appropriate for Radiology specialty.
• ARRT certification preferred for Radiology Technologists.
• CRT and Fluoroscopy certifications required for Radiology Tech roles.
• ACLS not required for OR but BLS is required for all clinical positions.
• Other certifications such as PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI, and CA Venipuncture Certification may be required depending on specific clinical area or role.

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
• Tdap vaccine required (no declinations accepted).
• Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (2 vaccines or titer with boosters if needed).
• Hepatitis B vaccination series, titer, or signed declination.
• COVID-19 vaccination required unless approved medical or religious exemption is on file.
• Annual flu vaccination or documented declination required.
• Proof of N95 fit test within one year prior to start (facility does not provide onsite testing).
• 9-panel drug test within one year of start.

Documentation & Compliance

• Background check including 7-year criminal history and various county, state, federal, and national searches.
• Verification of license and certifications within 30 days of start.
• Completion of facility-specific learning modules (approximately 8 hours).
• Completion of facility-specific documentation checklists and acknowledgments (e.g., confidentiality, standards of conduct).
• References: Two satisfactory professional references required.
• Employment application and skills checklist required.

Additional Information

• No scrub color requirement; scrubs provided by facility.
• Experience with electronic medical records systems (EPIC or Cerner) preferred; less than 6 months experience may require approval.
• Pyxis acknowledgment required for RNs and respiratory care practitioners prior to start.
• Facility requires interview and documentation for audit purposes.
