Registered Nurse - MS/Tele

Job Details

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry (MS/Tele)
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1845-0715)
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or American Red Cross accepted
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or American Red Cross accepted
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – preferred for ER & MS/Tele
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – required for ER (may be relevant if cross-trained)
• NIH Stroke Certification – required for ER RNs

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association
• PALS certification issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background check within 1 year, including:

  • Social Security trace
  • County searches for last 7 years
  • Nationwide and Sex Offender registry checks
  • Illinois Adult and Child Abuse Registry searches
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (annual)
• Education verification including transcripts or diploma
• Professional references (2 for travel/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care)
• Skills checklist (annual)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Respirator Fit Mask Testing within 1 year, updated annually (N95 or equivalent)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years or approved exemption
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual TB questionnaire required)
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history of chickenpox)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination documentation
• Drug screening:

  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable)

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
• This position requires working night shifts with a focus on medical-surgical and telemetry patient care.
• All certifications and health documents must be current and verifiable prior to start.
