Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in cardiac telemetry care for adult to geriatric patients. The role involves managing patients with cardiac conditions such as post-myocardial infarction, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, and peripheral vascular disease. Experience with telemetry monitoring, EKG, Doppler, and peritoneal dialysis is required.
Patient Population
- Adults to Geriatrics
- Unit census: 16 beds, 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of specialty experience in Registered Nursing (Cardiac Telemetry)
- 1st time travelers accepted
Certifications Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Skills and Work Setting
- Post MI, Heart failure, Arrhythmias, Chest pain, Peripheral Vascular Disease
- Peritoneal Dialysis
- Telemetry, EKG, Doppler
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system (required)
- Familiarity with Pyxis medication system and SBAR communication technique
Work Schedule and Requirements
- Rotation includes 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
- No call requirements
- Holiday work expectations: If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it; if 2 holidays, expected to work both; if 3 holidays, expected to work 2
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
- Return to Orientation (RTO) maximum 7 days, with blackout dates during Spring Break (early April)
Compliance and Screening
- Full compliance with onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time
- Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final approval
- Locals accepted at the same rate
Required Qualifications and Documentation
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Telemetry experience (minimum 1 year, within the last year)
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with adult to geriatric patient population
- Experience caring for patients post-myocardial infarction (Post MI)
- Experience caring for patients with heart failure
- Experience caring for patients with arrhythmias
- Experience caring for patients with chest pain
- Experience caring for patients with peripheral vascular disease
- Doppler experience
- Peritoneal dialysis experience
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system

- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Floating within the facility as needed
- No call requirements
- Orientation hours vary based on contract length
