Surgical ICU

Role Overview

• Travel/Contract Surgical ICU RN in Columbia, Missouri
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
• 36 or 48 hour contracts available
• Locals accepted, but local candidates are not eligible for extensions beyond the initial contract
• Float scope: outside of ICU to Adult MS Cluster
• First-time travelers accepted

Unit / Patient Population

• Surgical ICU
• Level 1 Trauma Surgical ICU
• Patient diagnoses include MVC, fall from standing, fall from height, GSW, penetrating trauma, burn, necrotizing fasciitis, sepsis, multi system organ failure, ARDS, perforated bowel, AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, and Fem-Pop bypass

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• SICU - Surgical Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
• SICU - Surgical Intensive Care experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients

Schedule / Expectations

• Work 50% of holidays during the contract
• Rotating shifts, weekends, call, and inclement weather coverage may be required
• Must be able to work the full contractual engagement and assigned shift

Other Notes

• Physical demands include ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
• Exposure to contagious illnesses may occur
