Job Details

• Specialty: Surgical Technician (Orthopedic focus, strong CST preferred)
• Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Variable start times between 06:00 - 08:00; typical shift 06:00 - 16:00

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• NBSTSA certification
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Health and Safety Requirements

• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption/declination (valid through October 2026)
• MMR vaccination proof (2 doses or IgG titer)
• Varicella vaccination proof (1 dose or IgG titer)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series started prior to start date (titers not accepted)
• Influenza vaccine or declination (optional)
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA TB test (Quantiferon/Tspot) with chest x-ray if positive (per regional requirements)
• Fit test required for Iowa locations prior to start
• Tdap vaccine (current, non-expired) or declination if no pediatric interaction
• Physical/health statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year)
• 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC)

Professional and Compliance Requirements

• Resume and skills checklist (within last year)
• Two professional references
• Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years) including SSN verification
• Education verification (highest academic degree or diploma/GED)
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 30 days
• OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusion check within 30 days
• NSO (National Sex Offender) check within 30 days, including aliases and statewide checks for MI
• Iowa-specific criminal history, sex offender, dependent adult & child abuse registry checks within 30 days
• Confidentiality and proprietary information agreement signed
• Conflict of interest disclosure form signed
• Code of conduct form signed
• Integrity and audit services form signed shortly before start
• Joint Commission CORE exam within the last year
• Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year
• System access form completed and uploaded one week before start
• Non-employee upload form pages 1-3 and 28 completed and uploaded
• Standard I-9 verification completed by agency
• OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) sanctions check within 30 days

Additional Notes

• Agency will provide the skills checklist for clinical contractors
• All documentation must be uploaded into the credentialing system prior to onboarding
• This position requires strong orthopedic surgical tech skills and CST certification is mandatory
