Registered Nurse (Medical/Surgical) - Night Shift

Location: Evansville, Indiana
Unit: Post-Surgical Unit (22 beds)
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a post-surgical unit with a moderate patient load.
• Work primarily night shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana.
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Successful completion of the Ascension Medical Surgical Exam.
• Successful completion of the Ascension EKG Exam.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Onboarding includes completion of a 6-hour education attestation and clinical skills checklist updated annually.
• Optional unit-specific checklist may be required by unit leader within one week of start.
• Influenza vaccine is optional; if declined during flu season, mask wearing is required.
• Criminal background and employment verifications must be updated annually or after breaks in service longer than 90 days.

This position is ideal for experienced Medical/Surgical RNs comfortable with night shifts and working in a post-surgical care environment.
