Role Summary
- Provides direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Supports circulating nurse responsibilities, including patient monitoring and documentation in the electronic health record.
- Supports scrub nurse responsibilities by maintaining sterile technique, preparing instruments, and assisting surgeons.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to support surgical workflow and clinical outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Driver's License
- OR - Operating Room (2 years of experience)
- OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
- Pediatrics OR - Operating Room experience
Onboarding / Compliance Requirements
- Completion of the specialty exam, core competencies, skills checklist, education attestation, nursing contract worker onboarding, Nova StatStrip, criminal background check, EPLS, education verification, employment verification, drug screen, and assignment confirmation
- Proof of MMR immunity or vaccination
- Fit test
- Hepatitis B documentation or declination
- Health statement or physical exam
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Tdap vaccination
- TB screening documentation
- Color vision screening
- Influenza vaccine is optional; declinations are accepted, but masking is required if declined
