MRI Technologist
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (rotating schedule over two weeks)
Job Summary
- Perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies under general supervision using MRI systems.
- Prepare patients, position them, set imaging parameters, acquire and process images for clinical and research purposes.
- Select appropriate imaging protocols and perform quality assurance scans.
- Rotate between MRI scanners within the assigned department as needed.
- Confirm patient identity and exam details per Joint Commission guidelines.
- Competent in routine outpatient exams with and without contrast; optimize scan parameters based on patient condition.
- Manage MRI safety, including patient instruction and adherence to safety policies.
- Insert IV catheters and perform intravenous injections of MR contrast agents, monitor for adverse reactions, and document appropriately.
- Perform point of care testing (POCT) where applicable.
- Identify and respond to equipment malfunctions and emergency situations.
- Assist with scheduling, patient transport, inventory, and other departmental duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an MRI Technologist, including experience within the last year.
- ARRT certification.
- Certificate or diploma from a Medical Imaging program.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Experience working in an outpatient setting.

- Work schedule includes a 2-week rotating pattern covering weekdays and weekends.
- The MRI department operates 7 days a week from 5:30 AM to 11:00 PM.
