Job Description

  • Provide specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patients under general to limited supervision.
  • Deliver safe, high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care in various settings including acute inpatient, outpatient physician practices, diagnostic/urgent care centers, and remote clinics.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders.
  • Use specialized imaging equipment and techniques for diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures.
  • Conduct post-procedure reviews independently to ensure completeness and technical quality per protocols and accreditation standards.
  • Transfer images and data to archival systems, enter technical data/findings, and prepare studies for physician reporting.
  • Perform operator-level quality control, cleaning, and high-level disinfection following manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in continuing education, professional development, and research activities.
  • Provide instruction, mentorship, and in-service training to less experienced team members.
  • Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty
    OR
  • Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program with emphasis in radiologic technology specialty

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients

Certifications & Licensure

  • Current CT credentials issued by the American Heart Association
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology principles, medical imaging, terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and prioritize assignments
  • Strong communication skills to interact professionally with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to remain calm and multi-task in stressful situations
  • Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail, and commitment to completing assignments efficiently

Shift & Hours

  • Days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday
  • Hours: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
  • On-call 1 time per month

Additional Information

  • Must be able to work as part of a team and reliably report to work as scheduled
  • Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs is essential

Pros

Very nice hospital, I like the fact that I never have to put in orders or sign any consent form. The doctors do all this. There is a lot of hours. On the clinical side, there is a lot to learn. On my unit I got to see so many surgical cases that I never seen in my entire career only because I was on a surgical unit.

Cons

It all depends on the team you are working with. They either break you or make you.
