Registered Nurse - Cardiac Unit
Location: Peoria, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Day (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to a designated group of patients using the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and resources. Responsible for patient assessments, developing and implementing plans of care, documentation, and ensuring patient and employee safety.
Essential Functions
- Perform all unit-specific nursing responsibilities within the scope of service.
- Conduct initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs.
- Implement and modify nursing interventions and patient care procedures as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
- Report and/or correct safety hazards and incidents to ensure a safe environment.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and provide constructive feedback to support professional development.
- Identify personal learning needs and pursue appropriate solutions.
- Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
- Minimum of 3 years of Med Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- Cardiology experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
