Position Overview
This entry-level role involves working under supervision to develop competencies in delivering specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and pediatric patients. The position supports medical staff in diagnosing, treating, and monitoring a range of cardiovascular conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care in various settings including inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, urgent care, and outreach clinics.
- Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve clinical and operational goals.
- Operate specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures.
- Conduct post-procedure reviews to ensure documentation and technical quality meet protocols and accreditation standards.
- Transfer images and data to archival systems and prepare studies for physician reporting.
- Perform quality control, cleaning, and high-level disinfection of equipment per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain competencies.

Required Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology principles, medical imaging, terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and reliably report to work.
- Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
- Accuracy in record-keeping and handling confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to multi-task, remain calm under stress, and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong communication skills with staff, patients, and families in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Core understanding of anatomy, physiology, and specialty-specific technologies and terminology.
- Ability to apply specialty theory and techniques to perform and document procedures with general supervision.
Education Requirements
- Associate’s degree or higher.
- One of the following:
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited cardiovascular specialty program.
- Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited radiologic technology program.
- Completion of a Paramedic training program.
Certifications & Licensure
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must meet eligibility and standards for ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) certification within 12 months of hire,
OR - Successful completion of Paramedic training program within 12 months of hire.
