Respiratory Therapist

Location

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Contract

Travel assignment
13 weeks
Start: ASAP
Guaranteed hours: 36 per week

Schedule

12-hour night shift
Shift time: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Weekend rotation: every other weekend, occasionally every 3rd
Holiday coverage may be required
On-call: not required

Required Qualifications

Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin
Respiratory Therapist (3 years of experience)
Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
PALS issued by American Heart Association
NRP
Associate degree or certificate
Experience working with Neonate or Pediatric patients
Ventilator management experience with Servo I, Servo U, LTV, Astral, Trilogy, and Oscillator equipment
Invasive and non-invasive ventilation experience
CPAP and BiPAP experience
RAM cannula experience
NAVA ventilation experience
PEP experience
Inhaled nitric oxide (INO) experience
Intubation and extubation experience
Tracheostomy patient management experience

Clinical Setting

Primarily PICU and NICU
May float to general med/surg acute care units and EDTC

Key Experience / Skills

PICU experience
Ventilator management and respiratory care for pediatric critical care and NICU patients
Experience with vents including Servo I, Servo U, LTV, Astral, Trilogy, and oscillators
Experience with trach patients, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, CPAP, BiPAP, RAM cannula, NAVA ventilation, PEP, and INO
Able to manage intubations, extubations, suctioning, and treatments

Other Requirements

Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
Any professional scrubs
Nose stud permitted; other visible body piercings are not allowed except ear piercings
Clear or flesh-colored piercing plugs are permitted

Licensing Note

If the Wisconsin license is not already in hand, the facility encourages applying for the Act 10 temporary license
