Travel RN Opportunity - Medical/Surgical Unit

Location: Lee's Summit, Missouri

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Unit: Medical/Surgical
• Number of Beds: 36
• Patient Ratios: 1:6 (day and night shifts)
• Scheduling: Every other weekend
• Floating Policy: First to float to ortho or telemetry units (telemetry float depends on competencies)

Unit Environment & Equipment

• Technician support: 1 technician per 10-12 patients
• Equipment includes:

  • Dynamap (WelchAllyn)
  • Telemetry with screen at nurse’s station
  • Alaris IV pumps
• Documentation system: Meditech

Required Skills & Certifications

• Certifications:

  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • Basic Dysrhythmia
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Skills:

  • Time management
  • IV start skills
  • Patient experience skills (bedside shift report, hourly safety rounds, AIDET, personal connection with patients)
• Procedures: No conscious sedation procedures performed on unit

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the RN specialty
• No prior travel experience explicitly required
