Travel RN Opportunity - ICU Unit

Location: Hopewell, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: ICU
• Number of Beds: 11
• Staffing: 3-5 RNs per shift (Day and Night), 1 Unit Secretary on Day Shift
• Patient Ratios: Typically 2:1, surge up to 1:3
• Equipment: GE Bedside Monitoring
• EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience (highest required years of experience)
• Ability to care for critically ill patients
• Ability to monitor rhythm strips, recognize changes, and escalate to physicians timely
• Experience with:

  • Ventilator care
  • Assisting with intubation and bronchoscopy at bedside
  • SLED (Sustained Low-Efficiency Dialysis)
  • TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography) and Cardioversions

Certifications & Licenses

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Certification
• Valid Registered Nurse License

Floating Areas

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Telemetry
• Emergency Room (only to take hold patients, not ER patients)

Work Schedule & Environment

• Every other weekend required
• No on-call duties
• Dress Code: Black pants with black or Caribbean blue tops
