Travel RN Opportunity - Step Down/PCU

Position Details

• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: As required by facility
• Call Requirements: None
• Number of Openings: 1
• Unit Beds: 26
• Patient Ratios: 3:1 or 4:1
• EMR System: EPIC

Licensure & Certifications

• Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
• Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA only)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year ICU experience (inpatient only)
• Prior travel experience not explicitly required

Unit & Patient Population

• Unit Type: Neuro Trauma Intermediate PCU
• Patient Types: Neuro, trauma, alcohol withdrawal, respiratory distress, insulin drips
• Equipment: Philips monitors, chest tubes, arterial lines, wound vacs, drains, EVDs, Nicom, BIPAP, Airvo

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
• Float on a rotational basis to critical care cluster or med/surg units
• Maintain professional accountability and adhere to facility mission, values, and standards

Physical & Work Environment

• Stand and walk most of the shift
• Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
• May work varying schedules and shifts based on patient care needs
• Exposure to blood and body fluids
• Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping (up to 50 lbs), pinching (up to 15 lbs), kneeling, crouching, and minimal crawling

Additional Information

• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for travel between November 1 and April 1 (no declinations accepted)
• Dress code: Black scrubs or Mercy-logo attire only
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
• Team player personality fit preferred
