Position Details

• Unit: Heart Failure / Stroke Unit (MS/Tele Stroke 5N)
• Unit Description:

  • 42-bed unit focused on neurological and cardiac conditions such as congestive heart failure and acute stroke
  • 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Team works closely with cardiologists and neurologists to provide specialized care

Work Schedule & Environment

• Holidays as required
• Every other weekend
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
• Patient-facing role
• Clinical position
• EMR system: Meditech
• Dress code: Solid navy scrubs
• Parking available

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Requirements

• Education: Associate degree in nursing
• Licenses:

  • Registered Nurse license in Alabama or Compact license (No temporary licenses accepted)
  • Must be registered in NURSYS
• Certifications:

  • AHA BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIH or Red Cross certification
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience OR
  • 18 months experience under highest level of professional license with at least 1 year in specialty (neuro-cardiac care)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
