Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Springfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide direct patient care in the Operating Room, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for all age groups. Assist with vascular surgery and hybrid imaging cases, working alongside a team of nurses and surgical techs for both endovascular and open procedures. Utilize the nursing process to ensure high-quality patient care and maintain professional accountability.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Days, 4x10 hour shifts (06:30 - 17:00)
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: As required by facility
• Call: Approximately 5 or fewer calls per 8 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Minimum 2 years of Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma experience
• Experience working with both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Experience as Scrub and OR Circulator
• At least 1 year of Interventional Vascular experience
• Competent in conscious sedation
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• Multiple years of Level 1 trauma experience

Unit & Patient Information

• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Patient Types: Outpatient to critical care inpatient
• Equipment: Includes robotic surgery systems (e.g., DaVinci)
• EMR System: EPIC

Additional Details

• Must be a highly motivated self-starter
• Dress Code: Black scrubs; professional attire required (no jeans or unprofessional clothing)
• Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, lifting and pushing patients (up to 50 lbs), and occasional kneeling or crouching
• Work environment is typically clean and air-conditioned

• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality

Notes

• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for travel assignments from November 1 to April 1 (declinations not accepted)
• Float requirements as needed by the facility
