Job Opportunity: Anesthesia Technician
Location: Boise, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day and Evening
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Unit Overview
- Position in the Surgery Department supporting 38 rooms including:
- 17 Main OR, 4 CVOR, 3 CCL, 3 L&D, 2 Endo, EP lab suites, and various imaging rooms (MRI, CT, US, X-Ray, Nuclear Medicine)
- Team of 8 employees supporting these rooms
- Anesthesiologists and CRNAs available in-house 24/7
- Pediatric trauma program in place
- Urgent cases handled in Main and CVOR with a 30-minute response time
Required Certifications
- BLS Certification
- Certified Anesthesia Technologist (Cer.A.T.T.) or Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) via ASATT
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience preferred (first-time travelers considered)
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Experience with GE anesthesia machines and Mindray equipment preferred
- Experience in CCL, EP, and OB settings is a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and maintenance of anesthesia machines
- Setting up anesthesia circuits and performing machine checks
- Inventory management of anesthesia machines, Omnicells, and supply cabinets
- Restocking and moving supplies as needed
- Assisting CRNAs with setup for arterial lines (IV starts not performed)
- Responding to codes including OB Stat, Anesthesia Stat, Trauma, and Stroke alerts
Scheduling & Work Environment
- 8-hour shifts, day and evening, with variable days up to 10:30 PM
- Weekend work required on Sundays per set schedule
- Holiday work required unless approved time off is granted
- Call is offered but not required; 30-minute response time if on call
- Floating within the department is rare; occasional float to nearby OR locations possible
- Scrubs and locker provided; travelers must bring their own OR shoes and may wear their own caps
- Orientation includes 3 shifts in the department
- Supportive and welcoming environment seeking flexible travelers with a positive attitude
- Opportunity for overtime available

- No telemetry or monitor tech duties required
- Tech supervisor available as a resource
- The unit recognizes that anesthesia techs may not be utilized to their full scope and is supportive of professional growth
Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician
- Anesthesia Technician experience within the last year
- BLS Certification
- Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.)
- Certified Anesthesia Technologist (Cer.A.T.T.)

L&D Unit is Traveler friendly for CST roll as well as RN roll. Work load is very manageable. Great staff support.
