Registered Nurse (GI)

Location: Northridge, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Endoscopy (GI) nurse for a travel contract. The role involves working variable day shifts (7 AM - 5 PM) with required call coverage on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Call shifts include 3 PM - 11 PM and 11 PM - 7 AM. Call frequency is variable, typically 1-2 weekday calls and at least 1 weekend call (Saturday and Sunday). Floating to Short Stay may be required. Orientation is provided.

Procedures & Responsibilities

• Endoscopic procedures including:

  • EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy)
  • Colonoscopy
  • Biopsy
  • ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
  • Sigmoidoscopy
  • Control bleeding
  • PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) care
• Charge nurse duties are not required.
• May float to Short Stay unit.
• Call required every other week (EOW).
• First to float when needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a GI Registered Nurse.
• Active California RN license.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification preferred.

Additional Information

• Weekend and holiday work may be required.
• Call shifts include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Shift times for call: 3 PM - 11 PM and 11 PM - 7 AM.
• Orientation provided.
