Acute Care G200 RN

Overview

• Registered Nurse role in Acute Care G200
• Location: Peoria, Illinois
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius

Required Qualifications

• Active IL RN licensure or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS certification
• Must provide the last four digits of SSN
• Must provide middle initial
• Must provide requested time off
• Must produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Unit Details

• 29-bed unit
• Typical census is 22-26, with a target census of 25
• Mix of private and semi-private rooms
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 4-5:1 on days, 5-6:1 on nights
• 24-hour Charge RN coverage
• 24-hour Crisis RN coverage
• Administrative supervisor available 24/7
• 24-hour PCT coverage with a 1:10 ratio
• Patients requiring telemetry are monitored remotely via the house-wide telemetry department
• Unit equipment is primarily Phillips
• No vents on the unit
• Patients may require oxygen up to 6L NC or stable BiPAP/CPAP at night or as needed

Responsibilities

• Titrate Heparin drips
• Attempt IV starts and use unit resources if unsuccessful
• Float to other med/surg-like units as needed

Schedule and Policies

• Every other weekend required
• Holidays are rotated
• No call or standby requirement
• 12 hours of non-billable orientation
• Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
• Call-off policy allows the equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks without penalty or shift payback

Floating and Restrictions

• Travel RNs are first to float as needed
• Does not float to ICUs
• Does not take care of chemo patients

Additional Notes

• Any color scrubs are allowed
• Staff provide their own scrubs
• No pediatric scrubs
• Inpatient phlebotomy team is used for blood draws
