Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Night shifts
  • Every other weekend and holidays

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of RN experience
  • At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
  • Level 1 Emergency Room experience required

Required Credentials and Certifications

Licenses & Certifications

  • RN License: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start date; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted. Both NURSYS and Board of Nursing verification required.
  • BLS Certification: Required for onboarding (AHA preferred; Red Cross accepted).
  • Fit Test: N95 fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually. Must be completed prior to start; no onsite testing available.
  • MGB Medication Exam: 80% passing score within 365 days required.
  • MMR Vaccination or Immunity: Documentation of required vaccines or proof of immunity.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30); no exemptions allowed.
  • TB Test: Negative TB skin test or blood test within 3 months of start date, updated if break >6 months.
  • Health Statement: Physician-signed statement within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months.
  • Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start, including international searches if applicable.
  • Massachusetts CORI Check: Within 30 days prior to start, updated if break >6 months.
  • Resume: Past 7 years of work experience with city and state required for submission.
  • References: Two recent references required, at least one supervisor or above.
  • Skills Checklist: Required for submission.
  • Assignment Confirmation Form: Required for onboarding and assignment extensions.
  • Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation: Required if fit test is required.
  • Education Verification: Verified through background check company.
  • SSN Trace: Must be run with criminal check, covering last 7 years.
  • National Sex Offender Check: Within 30 days of start, updated annually.
  • Exclusion Checks: Within 30 days of start and annually, including OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists.

Preferred / Optional Credentials

  • Hepatitis B Vaccination or Immunity: Strongly preferred but not required.
  • Tdap Vaccine: Preferred within last 10 years.
  • Positive PPD with Negative Chest X-Ray: Required if applicable.
  • TB Symptom Survey: Required if positive PPD, updated annually.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates with last names M-Z are preferred for this order.
  • No religious or medical exemptions allowed for fit testing or influenza vaccination.
  • Fit testing updates can be done at select locations if assignment is extended.

This position requires thorough credentialing and compliance with all listed health and professional requirements prior to start.
