Job Opportunity: Medical Technologist (MT)

Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Proficient in at least one department: Chemistry, Hematology, or Blood Bank
• ASCP certification required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Medical Technologist license/certification (ASCP required)
• Documentation of immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Two measles, two mumps, and one rubella vaccine or two MMR vaccines, or proof of immunity via blood test
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30) with no exemptions
  • TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test) and updated if there is a break >6 months
  • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date and updated if >6 month break
• Strongly preferred: Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity or declination
• Additional recommended: Tdap vaccine within 10 years (preferred)

Compliance and Background Checks

• Primary source verification of professional license/certification within 30 days of start date
• Criminal background check including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender registry
• Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists
• Verification of highest level of education achieved
• Social Security Number trace covering past 7 years of addresses
• Documentation of 7 years of work experience and education including city and state
• Two recent professional references required (minimum one supervisor or above)

Additional Requirements

• Completion of orientation and skills checklist/testing as required
• Confirmation of assignment form upon acceptance and for extensions
• TB symptom survey if positive TB test
• Candidate submission coversheet and other required documentation for submission
