Job Opportunity: Central Sterile Technician

Location: Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 40 hours per week, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday

Required Credentials and Certifications

• CST Certification: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST or NBSTSA CST) required for Massachusetts locations.
• Professional License: Primary source verification of professional license/certification required within 30 days of start date; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted.
• Resume: Must include past 7 years of work experience with city and state details.
• References: Two recent references required, including at least one supervisor or above in the relevant skillset.
• Skills Checklist: Completion of a skills checklist is required.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• MMR Vaccine: Documentation of two measles, two mumps, and one rubella vaccine, or two MMR vaccines; or proof of immunity via blood test.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 – April 30) with no exemptions allowed.
• TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative blood test within 3 months of start date; must be updated if there is a break in service longer than 6 months.
• Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date; updated if break in service exceeds 6 months.
• Respirator Medical Clearance: Required if fit testing is necessary for the role.
• Hepatitis B Vaccine: Strongly preferred but optional; proof of vaccination or immunity or declination accepted.
• Tdap Vaccine: Preferred if within last 10 years.
• Positive PPD: If positive TB test, documentation of a negative chest x-ray is required.

Background and Compliance Checks

• Criminal Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days prior to start and updated if there is a break longer than 6 months. Includes county and international searches as applicable.
• Massachusetts CORI Check: State criminal history check within 30 days prior to start, updated if break exceeds 6 months.
• Social Security Number Trace: Required as part of criminal background check, covering last 7 years of addresses.
• National Sex Offender Registry Check: Conducted within 30 days of start and updated annually.
• Exclusion Checks: Screening against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid exclusion lists within 30 days of start and annually.
• Education Verification: Verification of highest education level achieved, except for CNA positions.

Additional Requirements

• Assignment Confirmation: Confirmation of assignment form required for all initial assignments and extensions.
• Candidate Submission Coversheet: Required for submission.
