Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician

Schedule

• 36 hours per week, working 3 shifts of 12 hours each

Contract Length

• Approximately 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist, with experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Valid professional license/certification as required for the position (no Massachusetts Conditional Licenses accepted)
• Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no onsite testing; must use specific form)
• Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) attestation if fit test is required
• Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
• Tuberculosis (TB) test documentation within 3 months of start date, updated if break >6 months
• Physician Health Statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months
• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, updated if break >6 months; includes county and international residence/travel history for last 7 years
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if break >6 months
• National Sex Offender Registry check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Education verification of highest level achieved (except CNA positions)
• Social Security Number trace for last 7 years addresses/employment/schooling
• Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the skillset
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
• Candidate submission coversheet (current version)
• Skills checklist
• Two references as described above

Additional Notes

• No religious or medical exemptions allowed for N95 fit testing
• Positive TB skin test requires negative chest x-ray documentation (optional but recommended)
• Name change documentation required if credential names do not match legal name
• Confirmation of assignment/POI form required upon acceptance and for any start date changes

This position requires certification and compliance with multiple health and safety standards, background checks, and documentation to ensure readiness for the operating room environment.
