Physical Therapist (PT) Travel Position

Location: Delhi, New York
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

• Setting: Primarily outpatient physical therapy with occasional inpatient coverage for acute care and swing bed (rehab) settings.
• Preferred Experience: Outpatient physical therapy experience preferred.
• Shift & Schedule:

  • Day shift, Monday through Friday
  • 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid lunch (per New York State labor law)
  • Occasional Saturday coverage

Patient Population & Case Types

• Outpatient:

  • Pre- or post-operative orthopedic conditions (joint replacements, rotator cuff injuries, acute orthopedic injuries)
  • Chronic conditions (arthritis, chronic pain, balance issues)
  • Neurological conditions (CVA, TBI, Parkinson’s Disease)
  • Sports-related injuries
• Inpatient (occasional):

  • Acute care and swing bed rehabilitation cases

Caseload & Treatment

• 15 patient slots per 8-hour day (30 minutes each)
• 1-hour slots for new patient evaluations
• Treatment modalities include ultrasound, electrical stimulation, Saunder’s mechanical traction, paraffin therapy
• Equipment includes treadmills, stationary bikes, and upper body ergometers (UBE)

Technology

• EMR System: Epic (workstations on wheels available for point-of-service documentation)

Required Certifications & Credentials

• Active New York State Physical Therapy License
• Current BLS certification
• Additional onboarding requirements include:

  • Core competencies, unit exam, and skills checklist specific to the facility
  • Immunizations and health screenings (MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, TB test, Varicella, etc.)
  • Professional verifications (driver’s license/state ID, professional references, criminal background check, education verification, employment verification)
  • Drug screen and other health history documentation
