MRI Tech Travel Opportunity

Location: Cooperstown, New York
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Schedule & Work Environment

• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM (5x8's)
• Call coverage:

  • 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays
  • 4–5 weekends during the 13-week assignment
• Holidays required if they fall during call week
• Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
• Average scans per shift: 7–11
• Radiologist coverage: On-site and remote reading
• Patient screening performed by MRI Technologist
• Patient transport handled by hospital transport team
• Sedation cases supported by MRI Tech and Nurse
• No cross-coverage for CT or X-ray if volume is low

Equipment & Procedures

• Scanners: Philips 3T and 1.5T (5.7 software)
• Number of scanners covered by traveler: 1
• Most common studies: Neuro, MSK, Abdomen, Breast, MRA/MRV, General MRI
• Advanced studies required (excluding Cardiac MRI)
• Contrast administration required
• IV starts not required
• Pediatric imaging required

Required Qualifications

• Valid MRI Technologist license in New York
• Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pediatric imaging experience

• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • MMR
  • Fit Test
  • Hepatitis B
  • Influenza Vaccine
  • TB Test and Annual TB Questionnaire
  • Varicella
  • Tdap (optional)
• Driver's License or State ID required
• Physical/Health Statement required
• Professional verifications and background checks required (including criminal background, education, employment, drug screen, and sex offender registries)
• Skills checklists, core competencies, and unit exams required
