Travel RN Cath Lab - New York (Cooperstown)

Position Overview

Unit Profile

• High-volume Cardiac Catheterization Lab with 3 dedicated cath labs and 1 hybrid OR.
• Procedures include diagnostic caths, PCI, TAVR, EP studies, device implants, vascular, and interventional radiology (IR) cases.
• RNs rotate between circulating and monitoring roles.
• Collaborative, team-based environment working closely with techs and physicians.
• Structured scheduling with shared call responsibilities.

Patient Volume & Procedures

• 10–15 cases per day.
• Frequent procedures:

  • Daily diagnostic caths and PCI.
  • TAVRs every Monday.
  • LAAO every Wednesday.
  • EP studies full day Monday & Thursday, half day Wednesday.
  • Vascular and IR procedures throughout the week.

Staffing & Ratios

• Call Requirements:

  • 1 night per week (5:30 PM – 7:00 AM).
  • 1 weekend every 4th–5th weekend (Friday 5:30 PM – Monday 7:00 AM).
  • Call team consists of 2 RNs and 1 Tech.
• RN-to-Patient/Case Ratio:

  • 2–3 RNs per room.
  • 1–2 Techs per room.
• Staffing per case includes 2–3 nurses, 1–2 techs, plus a physician.
• Staff assigned to a specific room daily, responsible for all scheduled cases in that room.

Nursing Role Expectations

• Roles include circulating and monitoring, rotated each case.
