Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Nights

Job Description

• Night shift Registered Nurse (12-hour shifts)
• Every other holiday and every other weekend commitment required
• Dress code: Navy blue
• Traveler RNs are the first to float to other units if needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 3 years of Medical/Surgical RN experience
• Medical/Surgical experience within the last year

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Health & Immunizations

• COVID-19 Vaccine (optional, but proof or declination recommended)
• MMR: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; if negative/equivocal, vaccination series must be completed within 30 days of start
• Varicella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; if negative/equivocal, vaccination series must be completed within 30 days of start
• Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or specific declination form required
• Influenza Vaccine: Required or declination form; if declined, mask must be worn at all times on assignment
• Tdap: Preferred but not required (within last 10 years) or declination form
• TB Test: Must have one of the following within required timeframes:

  • 2 skin PPDs (1 within 12 months, 1 within 3 months) or
  • 1 Quantiferon/Spot test within 12 months
  • For past positives, chest x-ray within 12 months may be required
• Physical/Health Statement: Within last 12 months, including height, weight, vitals, Snellen eye chart, and physician’s statement of clearance with no restrictions

Other Requirements

• Fit Test: Must be completed prior to start and within last 12 months; specific approved mask models required
• Drug Screen: 9+ panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start, including SSN address trace, county and national criminal checks
• Driver’s License or State ID: Valid, unexpired US driver’s license or ID required
• Skills Checklist: Must be completed for the unit assigned and updated annually
• Core Competency Exam: Must score 80% or higher on required nursing core competency exams
• Professional References: Two professional references required (one supervisor from last 12 months, one supervisor or peer from last 3 years)
• Resume: Complete employment and education history for last 7 years required
• Various signed forms and acknowledgements related to conduct, assignment confirmation, sexual harassment, parking, and self-study packets

Additional Notes

• Traveler RNs may be floated to other units as needed
• Color headshot photo required for onboarding
• Some forms and documentation must be completed or signed prior to or at onboarding
