Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technician
Location: Evansville, Indiana
Facility: INEVA St Vincent Evansville (Ascension Health)
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Shift start time varies between 7:00-8:00 AM, end time between 3:30-4:30 PM
- Perform therapeutic and diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures
- Provide quality images for radiologists and physicians to interpret
Required Credentials & Compliance
Certifications & Licenses
- Current Nuclear Medicine Technician license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (must be AHA)
- Driver’s License or State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)
Professional Documentation
- Ascension Resume/Profile
- At least two professional references
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender check (updated annually or after break in service > 90 days)
- Employment verification for the past 7 years
- Education verification relevant to clinical work (updated if break in service > 90 days)
- Confirmation of assignment documentation on agency letterhead
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Varicella immunity proof or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap vaccination (valid for 10 years, no declinations accepted)
- Influenza vaccine recommended for flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Fit Test for respiratory protection (updated annually)
- Positive IGRA or PPD results with negative chest X-ray within one year prior to start, plus annual TB questionnaire
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- 12 Panel Drug Screen completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually
Training & Competencies
- Ascension Core Competencies training (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics) completed within one year and updated yearly (minimum 80% score)
- Ascension Skills Checklist for specialty clinical skills, completed within one year and updated annually
- Ascension Medical Imaging Contract Worker Onboarding and Education Attestation (pre-hire 6 hours training)
- Ascension Badge Photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no filters)
Additional Notes
- Medical Imaging Contract Worker Form completed onsite by facility
- Some optional immunizations and documentation may be accepted with conditions (e.g., Influenza vaccine exemptions)
- All documentation must be current and compliant with Ascension Health policies prior to assignment start
