Job Opportunity: RN Med Surg Telemetry (Travel)

Location: Waco, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
• Coordinate care among all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Required Qualifications

Licenses & Certifications

• Current RN license in Texas with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA required).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA required).

Specialty Requirements

• Specialty: RN Telemetry I / Med Surg Telemetry

• TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire.
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 90 days prior to start.
• Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccines; no declinations accepted.
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to assignment and annually thereafter.

Background & Verification

• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days of assignment.
• Employment verification for the past 7 years.
• Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
• Drug screen: 12 panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.

Additional Information

• Must complete onboarding requirements including various Ascension-specific checklists and attestations.
• Resume/profile and at least two professional references required prior to assignment.
• Driver’s license or state ID must be current and valid.
