Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room (Travel)

Job Description

• Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) and Every Other Holiday (EOH)
• No block scheduling allowed
• Must have 2 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) experience in a larger ED department
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles as needed

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience

Licenses & Certifications

• Current RN license for Wisconsin (Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start)
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – up to date, renewed every 4 years
• NIH Certification – updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group
• MOAB or CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training) – 8-hour course, updated every 2 years

Vaccinations & Health Requirements

• Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza vaccine during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); exemptions accepted but mask required
• Documented proof of two Varicella vaccines, serological evidence of immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• TB screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 90 days of start
• Health statement or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually

Professional Requirements

• Resume/Profile submission
• At least two professional references prior to first assignment
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days of first assignment
• EPLS check within 90 days of start
• Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
• Employment verification for past 7 years
• Specialty exam demonstrating competency in ED nursing (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
• Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
• Color vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years
• EKG exam with passing score of at least 80%, updated every 3 years
• Epic test-out results and training checklist with signed attestation

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver's license/state ID matching home state for compact license
• Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background (no alterations)
• Completion of onboarding requirements and education attestations

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Floating to other sites within 40 miles may be required based on staffing needs.

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs comfortable with EPIC and flexible scheduling in a travel assignment setting.
